Networks are a means of conceptualizing and a management tool for very diverse situations. Perhaps the most important networks are those around us, social networks, because they are linked to people's behavior. Our era has seen the gigantic development of online services that allow users to interact in a digital facsimile of our own, real relationships.

Moreover, the application of digital technologies allows complex networks visualization and management in a way that was not possible before. The study of past cultural movements through social networks sheds new light on them. The overlapping of artistic affinities with family, professional and other kinds of relationships creates a unique perspective for the understanding and teaching of the history of culture. The study of a brilliant period of our literary, artistic and scientific past, the Silver Age, can benefit from this perspective through a newly created tool that allows us to display the richness of the relationships that created this era.

The concepts of networking, social networking, their digital translation and their use in the visualization of culture are the focus of this interdisciplinary seminar.
